January 2018, a panic-filled month in crypto, sometimes referred to as the “cryptocurrency bloodbath,” was a great month for Melrose! While we did have many conversations regarding the future of our favorite crypto assets, we kept busy and had an exciting month.
To start, our CEO, Kelley, launched her own podcast, Crypto Token Talk. The first 4 episodes are already live. The CTT podcast serves as an educational on-ramp for people interested in blockchain and cryptocurrency, so if you have any friends or family looking to learn, feel free to share. Let us answer the “…but isn’t it fake money?” questions, so you don’t have to spend your Thanksgiving explaining blockchain to your aunt.
We have been working with RightMesh, that has been developing a mesh networking app for the remote community of Rigolet in Northern Canada, and were able to land a fantastic story with VICE Motherboard. RightMesh was also featured in an Inc. story, 11 Pearls of Wisdom for 2018, along with another client, JoyToken.
Melrose began working with UCLA’s Blockchain Lab and Far from LA on a campaign for their upcoming Cyber Days conference, an event that seeks to bring the most experienced and exciting thinkers across SoCal together to one room. Cyber Days features a number of talented crypto women speakers — a cause that’s near and dear to our hearts, as is evident in “About the Crypto Industry–’Where are the Women?’” a recent Finance Magnates piece on women in blockchain with ideas from Laura Cramer, Melrose PR’s Director of Brand Strategy.
Melrose is proud to announce that we are growing, and have a new team member, Sarah Cohen! Aside from being a total #foodie, Sarah brings her fresh ideas, excitement about blockchain, and traditional PR experience to the team, which will be extremely helpful as we continue to build our team.
For February, we are bringing on some great new clients, including SHOP, Blockdaemon, OpenCT and NetVote! Can’t wait to see what this next month brings.
